Scott Rowley and Drew Bryant had a great day skiing at Park City Mountain Resort. The conditions were epic and almost 100% of the mountain was open. The resort received 7 inches of new snow in the prior 24 hours. Patrol was out at work around 5am blasting all of the steeper zones in an effort to control the avalanches. We awoke to these blasting anticipating the powder to come. Garrett and his girlfriend Alex hooked Drew and Scott up with a great night of sleep and many to come. Garrett started his day around 530am with a backpack full of dye. Some days you just gotta do work! The photo below was taken by Kevin Able. The pipe was cut by Jake Engle or another pipe killer. Garret dyed the pipe and did one proper ass job. One the most memorable runs was a short hike from the top of McConkey's high-speed chairlift. The lift reminded both Scott and Drew of Shane McConkey, who recently passed away in a ski accident. McConkey's high-speed chairlift and ski area at Park City Mountain Resort are named after his father, Jim McConkey, who is considered the father of extreme skiing (Source: Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shane_McConkey). The run they skied off the top of McConkeys's was called P-Zone or O-Zone. Scott dropped in with a smooth traversing nose butter 360, followed by some killer pow turns. Drew was right behind him sending some smooth airs and turns. Hooting and hollering was definitely going down. Some of the funny runs were titled Climax, Glory Hole, Short Fuse, Detonator, Scott's Bowl and West Scott's Bowl. Yes these are actual names on ski runs. Check out the mountain map,or better yet come ride the runs........ Enjoy the photos!
